What We Believe

  • About Scripture and Doctrine

    • We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, eternal Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16, 17)
    • We believe the Bible is our final authority for faith and practice. (I Timothy 6:12-17)
    • We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God; the only way to God and to eternal life. (Matthew 16:13-16)
    • We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a perfect, sinless life, died a sacrificial death on the cross, was buried, and was raised from the dead on the third day. (I Corinthians 15:3-4)

  • About The Church

    • We believe the Church is the Bride of Christ, the Body of Christ, and the Building of Christ. (Ephesians 5:23-32; 1 Corinthians 3:10-17; 1 Peter 2:4-8)
    • We believe in the priesthood of all believers –meaning that every member is a minister serving in the area of his/her spiritual gifts. (Romans 12:3-8)
    • We believe in the submission and support of Godly leadership who is accountable to God, to each other, and to the people they serve. (Hebrews 13:17)
    • We believe in the importance of Biblical corporate worship. (John 4:19-26)

  • About Salvation and Spiritual Growth

    • We believe the Biblical Process of salvation includes grace, faith, repentance, confession, baptism, and faithfulness centered in Christ. (Acts 16:16-34)
    • We believe in the ministry of God, the Holy Spirit. (John 14:16, 17)
    • We believe that it is God’s will that every believer grow to maturity in humility, integrity, and a Christ-like character. (II Peter 1:5-11)
    • We believe strongly, boldly, and confidently in prayer. (Mark 11:24)

  • About Family and Relationships

    • We believe that marriage, an institution ordained by God, is between one genetic man and one genetic woman. (Mark 10:11-12)
    • We believe the family is God’s basic building block to society and should be nurtured. (Genesis 1:27, 28)
    • We believe that people are important to God and, therefore, are important to us. (Luke 15)

  • About Service and Stewardship

    • We believe in the wise practical stewardship of God’s resources. (II Corinthians 9:6-8)
    • We believe that service to Christ should merit excellence in everything we do. (Colossians 3:23, 24)
    • We believe that we are to communicate and demonstrate the love and grace of God in practical ways in our community and in this world. (Philippians 1:7)

  • About Faith in Action

    • We believe in a faith that is willing to take bold risks. (I John 5:4, 5)
    • We believe in the submission and support of Godly leadership who is accountable to God, to each other, and to the people they serve. (Hebrews 13:17)
