Holy Tuesday // "While all the people were listening, Jesus said to his disciples, “Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely." -Luke 20: 45-47 On this day, Jesus warns against religious leaders who prioritize outward appearances over genuine faith. He highlights their love for status and their exploitation of the vulnerable, emphasizing that such hypocrisy leads to severe consequences. Reflection-- Are we more focused on how our faith appears to others than on cultivating a sincere relationship with God? True discipleship calls for humility, authenticity, and compassion.​ Prayer-- Lord, help me to live authentically, honoring You not just in words but in actions. May my faith be genuine, reflecting Your love and justice. Amen.

"Meals Change Everything." We love getting to pack meals with our friends over at @lifelinecm 🤍 Last Saturday, we brought a group to meal pack together, and we were able to pack over 2,000 meals for children and families facing hunger in our community and around the world! If Peter can fall. I can fall. No one is immune from hypocrisy. But if Peter can get back up, then you can get back up. That was always Paul's goal. When we first see Paul in the Bible, he was a hypocrite. Claiming to love God, but holding coats as people stoned Christians. That's how God has often found me. Claiming to be a good person but knowing I'm not what I seem. Saying I believe one thing, but living another. Paul met Jesus and everything changed. Paul's life was crucified with Christ. Paul's old life had been put to death. And now He lives a new life, a crucified life. If you want to walk in step with the Gospel, you have to trust the beam.

Reflecting on God's faithfulness in 2024 here at Tates Creek! What a year it was! From baptisms to new partnerships, we’ve seen God move in powerful ways. Here's a look back at just a few of the beautiful things He did: 1️⃣ Tates Creek celebrated 79 years of God’s faithfulness! 2️⃣ We witnessed 17 life-changing baptisms. 3️⃣ Welcomed 23+ new members into our church family. 4️⃣ Grew deeper in prayer, with three unique prayer experiences and Sunday morning prayer gatherings. 5️⃣ Our Women's Ministry hosted their first-ever "Fight Like a Girl" Self-Defense Seminar. 6️⃣ We strengthened our partnership with Step by Step this year and heard from their Executive Director, Tanya Torp, at the Women's Christmas Tea. 7️⃣ We unveiled our new road sign – check it out next time you’re here! 8️⃣ We were blessed to give over $100,000 from our largest anniversary offering to date to Blue Grass Christian Camp and a ministry training center in Ethiopia. 9️⃣ Had a MESSY, but wonderful VBS with our kids! 🔟 We prayed over the International Conference on Missions and had the privilege of hosting its president, Andrew Jit. God has done so much, and we are filled with anticipation for all that He will continue to do in 2025. Join us this Sunday as we reflect on the incredible ways God moved in 2024 and look forward to all He has in store for 2025. We can’t wait to see you there!
