There are several opportunities to serve the church through our Student Ministry (students 6th-12th grade). Learn more about our volunteer opportunities below!

***All Student Ministry volunteers are REQUIRED to complete a background check and interview process with the Student Minister before they serve with the students. The only exception is ‘meal provider’ if they only drop off the food and do not serve.***

student ministry volunteer roles

Meal Provider: This person would be on a rotating schedule to provide a meal for 15-20 people on Sunday nights. Meals can range from home-cooked meals to ordered food that is delivered to church. This position can double as Meal Server (below) Time commitment: Sunday nights 5:45pm-Varied depending on serving. 


Meal Server: This person would help serve dinner alongside our existing volunteers to the students on Sunday Nights. Time commitment: Sunday nights from 5:45pm-6:30pm. 


Floater/Engagement: This volunteer’s main goal would be engagement with the students. Eating with the students, playing games, etc. Other responsibilities could range from helping set up tables, chairs, games; supervising the group; leading games; etc. Time commitment: Sunday morning 9:15am-10:30am, Sunday Nights 6pm-8pm, AND/OR Wednesday nights (during refresh) 6:30pm-7:30pm.


Tech: This volunteer would help run the ProPresenter (slides for songs and message) and/or soundboard. Time commitment: Sunday mornings 9:30am-10:30am; occasionally Sunday Nights 6:00pm-8:00pm. 


Band: This volunteer would help lead songs during the youth worship service. service. This is an auditioned position, and the instrumentalist must demonstrate competency in tempo, reading/playing chord charts, dynamic control, group mentality, and musical intuition. The TCCC youth worship department welcomes all instrumentalists to join our team. Sunday Nights 6:00pm-8:00pm Sunday mornings 8:30am-10:30am. 


Singers: Singers will be servant leaders in the church who guide our students in prayer, scripture and songs of worship. This is an auditioned position. These volunteers will be required to sing with other singers with harmony when possible and may be asked to lead the melody of songs on their own. Time commitment: Sunday mornings 8:30am-10:30am.


Small Group Leader: This volunteer will work alongside another individual to lead a small group of students and be a major influence in their spiritual journey. There is the expectation of attending the extracurricular school activities of the students in your small group, such as plays, concerts, sporting events, etc. This volunteer role could also be asked to attend trips with the student ministry that include students from their small group—events such as day trips, weekend retreats, and week-long summer conferences and mission trips. The breakdown of small groups depends on the number of students in the ministry—Ideally there will be a boys and girls group for each grade. **Current groups as of July 2024 are Jr. High girls, High School girls, and combined Jr. High and High school boys**

Time commitment: Sunday Nights 6:00pm-8:00pm; extra events as needed.
