HURRICANE HELENE RESPONSE

By now we've all seen the news coverage of the damage and destruction of Hurricane Helene. Roads have been washed away, homes have been flooded and families are grieving a tremendous loss of life. You can't help but ask the question what can I do? As a church we'd like to challenge you to consider three ways in which God might be calling you to respond.

  1. Pray. If we've learned anything from our series on the Lord's Prayer is that our need to come before the Lord is essential every day! We need God's grace, His provision, His protection and His hand to guide us. Please pray for those impacted by the devastating storms. Pray for the leaders. Pray for the churches. Pray for the families. Pray for the grieving. Pray!
  2. Consider giving. IDES exists to meet physical and spiritual needs of suffering people throughout the world in the name of Jesus Christ. They are a wonderful organization. In fact, our guest speaker Andrew Witt that was here a couple of weeks ago works with for IDES. They are already on the ground in affected areas meeting both physical and spiritual needs. Here is a link where you can give directly to those efforts... Give to IDES.
  3. Consider going. IDES is in the process of mobilizing teams to go and serve right now. If you'd like to go and serve, you can join one of the IDES teams and get your hands dirty. Maybe you can take time off work, or maybe you're retired and would love to chip in. This is a great way to be the hands and feet of Jesus. It's organized by people who know what they're doing. If you're interested in serving click the following link to sign up for a team and let us know you're going so we can pray! Go Serve with IDES

Thank you for praying for our neighbors in the states who are dealing with the devastation and loss caused by Hurricane Helene.  Please consider how God might be calling you to help!
